Hello my name is Michael Stratford and I have been coaching for over 20 years.
I am an MCC (Master Credential's Coach) in International Coach Federation since 1997.
I am also the author of three books and trainer of coaches. "Masterful Questions" is being used in several university leadership programs.
and I am Cora Whittington and I have been delivering organizational development programs for over 20 years and have been coaching for 6 years. I also mentor coaches in the Great Life Technologies coaching school and specialize in coaching leaders..
As coaches our job is to listen to and sort through various experiences through of giving and receiving feedback whether it is from a spouse, parent, business person or leader.
We are uniquely in the position of studying the means of being effective and ineffective with feedback

How Michael birthed "Masterful Questions" and "Leveraging Feedback"
Michael's story
“Masterful questions came about as I began to study questions for my coach training. I was always curious as to what was the most powerful motivator of human behavior.
But, much of the time in coaching classes, I heard people collecting the 10/20/100 “best” questions and put them in a list. Then they would apply them routinely AS IF each person and each situation was simply a carbon copy of someone else and something else.
I felt this approach was doing a great disservice to each individual. It didn’t value that we are all uniquely different in many ways and that “one size fits all” is an approach that NEVER works.
And so I began studying the construction of questions and much more..
Knowing that ‘doing’ was never divorced from ‘being’ I also studied what context contributed to asking questions that truly made a difference in effecting shifts in behavior. These ‘shifts of being’ always completely outpaced the ‘rubber band’ effect of change-then-bounce-back. It goes way beyond the ‘5 why’s’ methodology.”
“As for leveraging feedback, having coached rock bands in the beginning of my journey as a coach, I was familiar with the feedback phenomenon.
And as I made a transition into working with clients in Fortune 50 companies, I found that most people didn’t know how to make use of this crucially important mindset/skillset.
Most people either hated giving it or hated receiving it and often both.
In addition, I was constantly interacting with people about how to take and give the feedback in their work environment as well as in their homes, and communities. When it comes down to it, it’s ALL feedback and no one can live without it.
And so, as I helped people to address this pivotal experience, it became of laboratory of what worked and didn’t work.
And now I have clarified the whole process so that others can not only have a better time around the notion of feedback, but they can actually use the feedback as a lever to “move the world” as Archimedes says.”
